Advent and Christmas, 2011
Hanging of the Greens and Sanctuary Angels
The sanctuary was visited by Worship Commission Angels, our Chancel Choir, children, and spellbound adults on November 27 for our annual Hanging of the Greens to mark the beginning of Advent. (Special thanks to Phyllis Rasmussen for costuming.) The Angels were in the company of Herald and Gloria, who entertained the audience with a special interpretation of the Christmas story. Before they moved on to Annunciate to the Shepherds, the Angels sang Christmas songs (with the congregation singing along) and helped with the hanging of the Christmas Greens wreaths and garlands. Everyone helped decorate the Chrismon Tree, which was transformed from a simple pine tree to a starry array of lights and chrismons, after which the children gathered around Pastor Trudy to hear the Christmas Story
