Mission
Our mission is to touch, move and inspire all through programs and activities that embrace spiritual and material needs. We specifically commit to a focus on youth, young families and the culturally diverse.
One of these programs is Storehouse West, which was founded by RRPC in 1986. Its purpose is to provide non-perishable food baskets and utility bill assistance for the less fortunate in the West Side community. Other community activities include: Habitat for Humanity, annual Crop Walk and A Peaceful Habitat. Annually we join with churches from Dallas, TX for a week-long work project in Juarez, Mexico called The Starfish project. Additionally members provide scholarships for Mexican students who want to continue their education beyond the 8th grade. The annual RRPC Mission budget targets as much as 10% of the total budget for mission.
Special offerings supported by the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church include: One Great Hour of Sharing, the Peacemaking Offering, the Pentecost Offering, the Christmas Joy Offering, 2 cents-a-meal offering and the Souper Bowl of Caring. A portion of these offerings is returned to the local community to help support permanent programs and agencies such as Menual School.
Won’t you join us in the many opportunities to care for our fellow men and women just as Christ instructed us.
