Youth Mission

Mission Trips - Each year our youth travel to another location to work on a mission project.  During 2008 our youth traveled to an orphanage in Juarez, Mexico to work on fencing.  During 2009, they complete a project in Ruidoso, NM.

In July, 2010, RRPC youth traveled to Leadville, CO.  We stayed at the First Presbyterian Church in Leadville and embarked on a variety of service projects, including a three-day Vacation Bible School for the local community! View photos and read reflections from the experience provided by our youth.

Souper Bowl of Caring - On Super Bowl Sunday our youth collect an offering for a mission of their choice.  Souper Bowl of Caring is an ecumenical effort to eliminate hunger.

Vacation Bible School - We take Vacation Bible School to Cuba, NM each year, providing the children of this small community with a fun-filled, faith-filled week!

Our youth also provide leadership for our own VBS with our own children!

Easter Egg Hunt - Each year our youth sponsor an Easter Egg hunt for children of Rio Rancho Presbyterian!

Prayer Vigil - Beginning the Saturday evening before Easter, our youth sponsor a prayer vigil that continues through the night and ends on Easter morning.  Members of the congregation participate in these petitions and spiritual preparation for celebrating the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Living Nativity - Each year we re-create the Christmas Story by providing a Living Nativity for the local community.  An evening of fellowship, music and yummy Christmas treats can be enjoyed by all, after they journey through the rose garden and encounter the Holy Family with all their visitors!

Our youth participate in many other mission projects, including the CROP Walk for Hunger and Relay for Life.
