Fellowship
“We praise God for opportunities to bring members together in joy and fellowship”

Chatterbox Café: These groups of 6-8 each are organized twice yearly (January and July), and enable members to get to know each other on a more personal level, alternating dinners at each others’ homes over a 6-month period.

Potluck Meals: We love to eat! Many occasions throughout the year provide opportunities for “potlucks,” such as Mission fundraising, Pentecost Sunday, pre-program opportunities (example, our Advent Adventure 4-week Wednesday night series in 2007), Early Bird Thanksgiving Dinner, Easter Brunch, etc. The meals together are delicious, and so is the company!

Monthly Singles’ Brunch: Singles (of all ages) meet at Chamisa Hills Country Club after church on the third Sunday of each month for food and fellowship.

Men’s Breakfast: Members and friends (males) gather for breakfast and fellowship in the church’s social hall on the first Saturday of each month at 8:00am. The group enjoys companionship and conversation about what is going on in their lives. They also discuss needs of the church and often take on projects or commissions. Meditation of a particular scripture reading is also an important part of the gathering.

Presbyterian Women: There are two circles. Each meets monthly from September through May at the church. There is Bible study, fellowship and, of course, food. One circle meets at 10:00 am on the third Thursday of the month, and the other meets at 7:00 pm on the second Monday of each month. The circles make plans for year-round projects to support many needs of the church; for example, one year they focused on raising funds to replace all of the sanctuary chairs. An Arts and Crafts fair is usually held in November of each year, and has become a successful fundraiser for selected goals.

Youth Fellowship: The church has a very active Christian Education program, and the youth (and friends) meet every Sunday evening at the church at 6:30. Throughout the year, they plan many fellowship activities for themselves (outings, sleepovers, parties) as well as for the congregation (Christmas caroling, Halloween Party, Early Bird Thanksgiving dinner, etc.).

Family Fun Nights: The Outreach Commission hosts intermittent Family Fun Nights throughout the year (except summer). These are usually on a Friday night, and target whole families. Board games (Monopoly, Scrabble, Clue, card games, etc...) are the primary activities and, as could be expected, there is snack food!

Other: The Fellowship Commission frequently organizes group attendance at special events, such as to a Scorpions game, an Isotopes game, a Popejoy performance, etc. Generally discount tickets are available for “groups” and we enjoy these events in the company of fellow church members.
