Our Pastor

Reverend Trudy R. Morphew, her husband Randy and their four-legged child, Nowell, have been serving with us since July, 2008.  She and Randy have two grown sons who live in Dallas and Austin with their wives and three young children.

Pastor Trudy holds an undergraduate degree in English/History from the University of Texas at Tyler.  She received her Masters of Divinity in 1998 from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.  First Presbyterian Church of Stillwater, Oklahoma was her first call and the church where she was ordained and served as the Associate Pastor for Education.  Following that pastorate, she served as Chaplain and Vice-President of Programs for Presbyterian Mo-Ranch Assembly (a camp and conference center in the Texas Hill Country, serving the 4 states in the Synod of the Sun).  Before accepting the call to Rio Rancho Presbyterian (RRPC), Pastor Trudy served as pastor of First Presbyterian in Tahlequah, Ok.

Pastor Trudy considers ministry with God's people a true joy.  She has come to learn that the congregation of RRPC serve and worship faithfully and are just plain fun people to be with!  "God's people can do amazing things when we remember who and whose we are!  I am always excited to see where God is taking us and to discover the possibilities for serving Christ as the Spirit of Pentecost blows us into the future".

2011 Leadership Sandoval County

Pastor Trudy was a member of Leadership Sandoval County's July graduating class. Since September, 2010, the group examined leadership styles and strategies and were informed of issues and projects affecting our community.  These included:  community image building and diversity, economic development, and and city/county/state government.  In addition, participants worked together on a community-oriented group project outside of regular classroom time.  Graduates individually had to attend public meetings, go on a safety officer ride-along, read material on leadership, and interview a community leader.
